INTEGRATION
The Passage of Integration
What begins in a journey does not end there. It continues to live within you, quietly shaping how you feel, see, and move through the world. The experience itself is only the beginning. What follows is integration, the ongoing process of allowing what was revealed to become part of how you live.
Integration is not always easy. At times, it can be just as profound as the journey itself, moving through layers that feel unfamiliar or tender. It asks for trust: trust in yourself, trust in your process, and trust in your capacity to meet whatever arises. It also asks for patience and self-compassion, allowing understanding to emerge in its own time rather than rushing towards answers.
Integration can unfold over months, years, or even a lifetime. It is not a destination to reach but a relationship you continue to cultivate with yourself.
Alongside the emotional and spiritual aspects of integration, there is also a biological one. Following a sacred mushroom journey, the brain may enter a period of increased neuroplasticity, meaning it has a greater capacity to form and strengthen new patterns of thinking and behaving. This creates a valuable opportunity to gently cultivate the qualities you wish to embody through mindful daily practices. Small, consistent actions often shape lasting change more deeply than dramatic ones.
Without integration, even the most meaningful insights can gradually fade, remaining beautiful experiences rather than becoming embodied ways of living. Integration is where those insights begin to take root through the choices you make each day.
This process may touch every part of your life: your relationships, your creativity, your sense of purpose, the way you care for yourself, and the way you meet the world around you. Often, the changes are subtle. You may notice yourself responding with greater patience where you once reacted, feeling drawn towards what nourishes you, or recognising that something no longer feels aligned.
There is no right way to integrate. It is not about forcing transformation or searching for certainty. It is about staying present with what has been revealed, remaining curious, and allowing the experience to continue unfolding through your everyday life.
Over time, integration becomes less about remembering the journey and more about living its teachings. This is how meaningful experiences begin to shape not only what you know, but who you become.
The Power of Community
Integration doesn't have to happen alone. While the journey itself is deeply personal, there is something profoundly healing about being held within a heart centred community of women who understand the path you are walking.
Sharing your experience in a safe and supportive space can help you feel seen, heard, and less alone. It is often through listening to one another's stories that we discover new insights, deeper understanding, and the quiet reminder that our experiences, while unique, are also deeply human.
Whether you join a one-to-one integration session or become part of our growing Women of Mycelia community, you are warmly invited into a space where your journey can continue to unfold with compassion, curiosity, and connection.
Sometimes, the greatest medicine is simply remembering that you don't have to walk this path alone.
Your Body, the Temple
You might return to simple, grounding practices such as journalling, allowing thoughts, feelings, and fragments of the experience to move onto the page without needing structure or conclusion. Meditation, gentle movement, or time in nature can also support a sense of connection and steadiness, creating space for the experience to settle in its own time.
It is also important to recognise that the body may continue to process long after the journey itself has ended. Emotions, sensations, or subtle releases can move through the body in waves, sometimes quietly, sometimes more noticeably. At times this may feel soft and natural, and at other times unfamiliar. This is a natural part of the process.
Rather than trying to understand or control what arises, this can be a time to listen to your body, to rest when needed, to move gently, or to simply be with what is unfolding. Meeting these moments with care and allowing space for them to move can support the body in completing what it may have begun during the experience.
Working with supportive modalities can offer additional care during this phase, gently supporting the body, the nervous system, and the ongoing process of integration:
Breathwork
Helping to regulate the nervous system and move through held emotion or energy in a supported and conscious way.
Gentle Movement (e.g. yin yoga, stretching)
Supporting connection to the body, allowing sensations and subtle shifts to be felt and released over time.
Massage or Bodywork
Assisting in releasing tension held in the body, supporting relaxation and physical integration.
Kinesiology
A body-based modality that works with muscle testing to support balance and identify areas of stress or imbalance within the system.
Reiki
An energy-based practice that supports relaxation and balance, offering a gentle space for the body and mind to settle.
Somatic Therapy or Practices
Supporting awareness of the body and nervous system, helping you process experiences through sensation rather than only through the mind.
Meditation
Creating space for stillness, reflection, and deeper listening, gently supporting a return to your true self, your inner knowing, and the wisdom that may still be unfolding. For some, meditation can also become a quiet way of deepening their relationship with Spirit, intuition, or what they experience as the presence of spirit guides.
Returning to Yourself, with Love
You have just moved through a powerful experience. You may have touched something within yourself, something ancient, wise, and quietly radiant.
Take a moment to recognise that.
There is something within you that knows. You are not separate from this. You are part of it.
Be gentle with yourself as you land, and trust your capacity to meet whatever arises. You are already held in something much greater, and you are not alone in this process.
This is a time to begin meeting yourself with more care. A soft, simple practice of self love can begin here. This is where you start choosing yourself in small, real ways.
It doesn't need to be anything extraordinary. What matters is the way you choose to be with yourself now.
It might look like resting when your body asks for it. Saying no when something feels like too much. Giving yourself space. Letting things remain unfinished for a while.
It can be as simple as noticing the way you speak to yourself.
The inner voice can be quiet, yet it shapes so much. You may begin to hear it more clearly now. The tone you use. The words you repeat. The stories you continue to believe.
Where your inner voice feels harsh, soften. Where it feels distant, draw a little closer. Begin speaking to yourself as you would someone you deeply love, with patience, honesty, and kindness.
There is nothing you need to become. Nothing you need to fix.
You are already in the process of remembering.
Just a quiet return to yourself, with love.
Creative Expression
You are a creator by nature,
and in this space, you are simply allowing what is within you to take form.
Give what you a way to move.
Not everything needs to be understood through thinking.
Some things integrate through expression.
Choose a simple outlet that feels natural to you: drawing, painting, dancing, music, or voice notes.
Let it be unstructured.
There is nothing to get right.
Focus on expressing what you feel,
rather than explaining it.
You might begin with:
What am I feeling right now?
What wants to move through me?
If this had a colour, shape, or sound, what would it be?
Even a few minutes is enough.
This is not about creating something to keep or share,
but allowing the experience to continue unfolding
and settling within you.
